Wayne 4-H seeking recipes for new cookbook
Wayne County 4-H is seeking recipes and memories from 4-H families to compile into a cookbook with a deadline of Aug. 31 to submit. All proceeds from the cookbook sales will go directly toward supporting Wayne County 4-H programs.
All Wayne County 4-H families — past, present and future — are invited to contribute to a cookbook with favorite recipes from the 4-H community.
Imagine a collection of family dishes, all passed down through generations of 4-H members in a professionally printed cookbook. All proceeds from the cookbook sales will go directly toward supporting Wayne County 4-H programs.
Choose up to five recipes from Grandma’s prize-winning apple pie to your kid’s favorite barn snack. Every recipe has a story to tell.
How to share your recipes
—Go to www.typensave.com and click Login.
—Enter the user name: Wayne Co 4-H.
—Enter the password: thyme373 and click Submit.
—Enter your name and click Continue.
—Click Add Recipes.
Recipe writing tips
—When adding recipes, review the tips and use standard abbreviations.
—Only enter one ingredient per ingredient line.
—List ingredients in order of use in the ingredients list and directions.
—Include container sizes.
—Write directions in paragraph form, not in steps.
—Use names of ingredients in the directions: “Combine flour and sugar.” Do not use statements like “Combine first three ingredients.”
—Include temperatures and cooking, chilling, baking and/or freezing times.
—Additional comments about the recipe (history, nutritional data, suggested uses) are not allowed unless a Recipe Note field is visible. Enter extra recipe content in that field.
Preorder your cookbook
Due to anticipated high demand, preorder your cookbook today to guarantee your copy. Each cookbook will be no more than $30, and payment will be due at the time of pickup.
Sharing 4-H memories
The book also is a way to share special 4-H experiences. Submit your favorite memories to the committee.
