WCHS hosting Archaeology Day
The Wayne County Historical Society will host Archaeology Day on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 546 E. Bowman St. in Wooster.
There will be a variety of kids activities including a dig box for mock excavations, activity and coloring booklets, inscription rubbings, and refit pots. In addition to these activities, attendees will have the chance to explore artifacts from a 1967 Pella, Jordan dig; a 1904 Wayne, Holmes and Coshocton counties dig; and a 1990 Beall House dig.
The event also will feature information about atlatl spear throwing, flint knapping, colonial America and the Summit County Historical Society.
Food trucks will be onsite throughout the day, offering a variety of refreshments. While admission is free, donations to the Wayne County Historical Society are encouraged to support future programs.
