Summary: Deputy Treasurer Dawn Zerrer was sworn in as Acting Wayne County Treasurer, replacing Beverly Shaw, who announced her intention to retire effective April 29.
Deputy Treasurer Dawn Zerrer has been named Acting Wayne County Treasurer, succeeding current Wayne County Treasurer Beverly Shaw.
Earlier this month Shaw announced her intention to retire effective April 29 in order to spend more time with her family.
Zerrer was sworn into office during the Wayne County Commissioners April 27 meeting and will serve as Acting Treasurer until Shaws replacement is sworn in to office.
According to Wayne County Republican Party Central Committee member Jim Carmichael, the committee is expected to meet on May 7 to name Shaws successor.
The date for the swearing in ceremony for Wayne Countys new treasurer will be announced at a later date.
