Summary: Future cheerleaders hit the floor of the Wooster High School gym on July 21 to learn the moves they?ll need to master to join the ranks of the high school?s cheerleading squads. Future cheerleaders learned all the right moves when the members of the Wooster High School Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman cheerleading squads lead a Cheer Clinic in the school?s gym on July 21. ?We want these little girls to walk out of here knowing everything there is to know about cheerleading? said Wooster High School cheerleading advisor Duper Pallota. Over the course of the afternoon clinic nearly 50 aspiring cheerleaders from age five through eighth grade learned how to correctly hit the motions, cheers, chants and jumps they will need to know to join the ranks of the high school's cheerleading squads. According to Pallota mastering the tiniest details down to the placement of their hands and toes really counts when the students take part in cheerleading competitions. In addition to future Generals who won?t be hitting the floor of the school?s gym for many years, seventh and eight students from Edgewood Middle School were also on hand to learn a routine they will perform throughout their high school experience ? the Wooster High School fight song. According to Pallota, the clinic is a valuable experience for the future and current Wooster High School cheerleaders alike. For aspiring cheerleaders the clinic is the perfect forum to master the moves they will need to know to be a member of the high school?s squads. For current Wooster High School cheerleaders the clinic the opportunity to be role models for future members of the team.
