091911 Wayne County schools show their artistic side
Summary: Students from Wayne Countys 10 school districts showed that there is more to school than just reading, writing and arithmetic when their art work was put on display in the School Building during the Wayne County Fair.
The School Building at the Wayne County Fairgrounds was filled with thousands of works of art produced by students in Wayne Countys ten public school districts.
The pieces, which were carefully crafted by students in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade during the 2010-2011 school year, were selected and displayed by district art teachers from throughout the county.
Taking Best in Show honors in the 2D category for the high school show was senior Arial Ligman of Wooster High School for her photograph entitled Conversing with Flutes. The Best in Show winner for 3D art was Waynedale High School student Lorene Miller for her ceramic tea set.
