SUMMARY: Grand jury also charges Millersburg man with weapons under disability The December session of the Holmes County grand jury filed charges against a Wooster couple who allegedly traded televisions they rented from a Millersburg company for rent. Monica L. Nussbaum, 24, and Eric R. Ramey, 26, both of 2222 Melrose, Apt. 107, are charged with four counts of theft, fifth-degree felonies. The charges carry up to 12 months in prison. According to Millersbrg Police reports, the charges stem from June 7 to Sept. 13, 2011. MPD Detective Sgt. Roger Estill said Nussbaum and Ramey entered into a rental agreement with a Millersburg business for a plasma TV and stereo equipment. They took the TV and equipment and left. On the second occasion, Nussbaum and Ramey rented another plasma TV, stereo equipment and a laptop. They also made a payment on the first rental contract, the first and last they would make, Estill said. When the business attempted to reclaim the property, Estill said, Nussbaum and Ramey said they traded it to pay their rent. The TVs, stereo equipment and laptop have not been recovered. In a separate and unrelated case, the December session of the grand jury charged Charles B. Ison, 49, 288 S. Washington St., Millersburg, with having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony, and hunting without permission, a second-degree misdemeanor. According to the indictment, the charges stem from Dec. 2, when Ison allegedly possessed a 870 Remington Wingmaster 12 gauge shotgun while hunting on land without permission of the land owner. Ison is not permitted to possess firearms by a court order, having been previously convicted of aggravated assault. The having weapons under disability charge carries up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The hunting without permission charge carries up to 90 days in jail and a $750 fine.
