10/12/12 Sheriff's drug roundup nets 22, marijuana grow operation

                        
SUMMARY: Sweep closes investigations dating back to May Law enforcement concluded several drug trafficking investigations Thursday Oct. 11, arresting 22 suspects and seizing an indoor marijuana grow operation. The round-up was led by the Holmes County Sheriff’s office’s drug enforcement unit. Teams of officers headed out with arrest warrants for 34 individuals in Holmes, Wayne and Coshocton counties at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday evening. Several of the individuals charged remain at large. The charges were handed down in a Oct. 5 session of the grand jury. Holmes County Sheriff Tim Zimmerly said things went “very well” overall. The grow operation was discovered in a Washington Township residence, and marijuana, marijuana plants, grow lights and other paraphernalia were confiscated, Zimmerly said. Zimmerly said the investigations “picked up where we left off” after a similar drug round-up in May. A total of 50 officers participated in the roundup, Zimmerly said. Agencies participating in the roundup, in addition to the sheriff’s office, were police from Millersburg, Glenmont, Nashville, Rittman and Wooster; Holmes County Adult Probation; the Wayne County Sheriff’s office and Medway Drug Enforcement agency. Arrested were: June E. Baughan, 35, 5574 County Road 50, Glenmont, two counts of aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance, aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance within the vicinity of a juvenile; Timothy L. Barnett, 20, 120 Grover St. Killbuck, sale of dangeroud drugs (Antivert); Lisa G. Duncan, 42, 303 N. Market St., Shreve, four counts of aggravated trafficking in a schedule II drug (Adderall, Hydrocodone), two counts of aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance within the vicinity of a juvenile; Lois R. Baird, 6887 Dover Road, Apt. 6, Apple Creek, three counts of aggravated trafficking in a schedule II drug (Adderall, Hydrocodone), permitting drug abuse; LaTasha N. Eyler, 25, 75 Northern Dr., Millersburg, trafficking in marijuana within the vicinity of a juvenile, two counts of sale of a dangerous drug (Tramadol); Laura T. Haven-Hjerpe, 32, 2574 Prairie Lane Road, Wooster, trafficking in a schedule II substance, aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance within the vicinity of a school; Mildred E. Holbert, 51, 314 N. Walnut St., Wooster, aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance within the vicinity of a school, permitting drug abuse; Thomas D. Holbert, 48, 314 N. Walnut St., Wooster, aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance within the vicinity of a school; Tricia A. Justice, 39, 624 S. Washington St., Millersburg, sale of dangerous drugs (cyclobenzaprine), aggravated trafficking in a schedule II drug (Concerta), endangering children; Brock G. Kent, 21, 322 N. Walnut St., Wooster, sale of dangerous drugs (Antivert); Justin T. Martin, 23, 439 Spink St., Apt. 3 Wooster, aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance within the vicinity of a juvenile, trafficking in a schedule IV substance (Alprazolam); Linda L. McFadden, 60, 3701 Township Road 323, Holmesville, trafficking in a schedule III substance (Vicodin), aggravated trafficking in a schedule substance within the vicinity of a juvenile, endangering children; Nathan A. McFadden, 30, 624 1/2 W. Market St., Orrville, trafficking in a schedule III substance (Vicodin); Shawn A. McFadden, 36, 205 Chateau Circle, Orrville, trafficking in a schedule III substance (Vicodin); Arlene A. Sommers, 46, 5441 Maple St., Berlin, aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance (Amphetamine), two counts of trafficking in marijuana in the vicinity of a school; William J. Whitley, 48, 256 S. Main St., Killbuck, two counts of aggravated trafficking in a schedule II substance (Oxycodone, Percocet). Also arrested Thursday night were Corey A. Meinke, 25, Berlin; Mark E. Mullins, 30, Holmesville; Sarah R. Singleton, 46, Killbuck; Michael W. Smith, 32, Lakeville; Debbie M. Mann, 37, Big Prairie; Samatha G. Lyons, 20, Holmesville. Charges had not been processed with Holmes County Common Pleas Court as of press time.
