Senior Citizen Day. Fairgoers who are 65 years of age and older will be admitted free until 4:00 p.m. The school kids had their day, and parents with preschoolers in strollers had their day. This day is reserved for senior citizens 65 and over. Admission is free until late afternoon. It is also the last day of the fair. Take a stroll through the displays and watch a few shows. Or, come out and enjoy the morning and afternoon with friends and family. Savor the fair just a little longer by taking home your favorite fair food for dinner. 8:00 a.m. Jr. Horse Show, Riding Arena 8:30 Jr. Swine Auction, Show Arena All of the market hogs shown throughout the week will be auctioned off during this event. Bidders can select from more than 300 hogs and most are over 250 pounds each. Come early, this event packs the arena. 8:30 Jr. Fair Dog Show, Carter Building Open to 4-H members only. Dog handlers, ages 8 to 18, wow the crowd with their showmanship and handling of their best friend and canine. Showmanship awards will be given for senior, intermediate, junior and beginners. The judges look at how well the handlers control their dog, how well the dog fulfills a long sit and how the dog executes different activities. ***** Jr. Beef Auction, Coliseum (Following the Swine Auction) All of the junior market steers shown throughout the week will be auctioned at this event. Highly supported by the Wayne County community, the auction packs the coliseum. These are large animals with the average steer weighing in at 1,300 pounds. Come early and leave satisfied. Noon Mounted Shooters Northern Ohio Outlaws, Grandstand Another great newer show for the fair. This group of entertainers and competitors come dressed in period cowboy costumes. They will show off their cowboy and horsemanship talents while competing with each other by shooting balloons with black powder while riding their horses. Make it a new tradition by attending and enjoying what these cowboys and their horses can do. 7:00 p.m. Demolition Derby, Grandstand End the week with the traditional Demolition Derby – now open to the world! Visitors will see full size and compact cars crash. Some of the cars will be new to the show while others may have at least a few bumps from competing in other shows. It's a great way to watch cars crunch into each other and know that nobody gets hurt. The raucous event is a crowd pleaser and a fun way to close out another terrific fair week.
