3/11/14 Coshocton man hospitalised in state Route 83 crash

                        
SUMMARY: Crash under investigation A Coshocton man is hospitalized after a two vehicle crash that occurred Friday March 7 on state Route 83 south. Raymond K. Fry, 22, County Road 19, was transported via medical helicopter from Pomerene Hospital following the crash, which occurred near the intersection of County Road 580 and state Route 83 south. As of March 11, Fry is in Aultman Hospital where he is being treated for injuries, according to Holmes County Sheriff’s reports. The crash occurred at 4:01 p.m. Friday when Fry was southbound on state Route 83 in a 2000 Chevy Cavalier. According to sheriff’s reports, Fry approached the intersection of state Route 83 and County Road 580 and passed a stationary vehicle that was waiting to make a left hand turn. Fry collided head-on with a northbound 2012 Nissan truck driven by Tonya D. Smith, 49, Mount Vernon. Fry’s vehicle spun around in the intersection and came to rest in the roadway. Despite the loss of the front driver’s side tire, Smith’s vehicle continued south and stopped on the highway shoulder. Smith was transported to Pomerene Hospital by the Fire District #1 squad. Smith was treated and released, a hospital spokesperson said. The crash remains under investigation.
