SUMMARY: Killbuck man pleads to marijuana trafficking, Millersburg man gets prison for meth A Millersburg man was sentenced to prison Thursday June 16 on a methamphetamine possession charge. Jonathon R. Leighty, 20, 7590 Township Road 652, was sentenced by Holmes County Common Pleas Judge Robert D. Rinfret to nine months in prison on one count of possession of methamphetamine, a fifth degree felony. The charge stems from Dec. 7, 2010, when meth was found on Leighty during a routine traffic stop. The drugs were discovered after a search by the Holmes County Sheriff’s K9 unit. Rinfret found that a prison sentence was appropriate because Leighty was on probation at the time of the offense. Leighty was sentenced immediately following his guilty plea Thursday. He faced up to a maximum of 12 months in prison. Also Thursday, Jeremy M. Wolfe, 22, 165 S. Water St., Killbuck, pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in marijuana, both fifth-degree felonies.The charges stem from three drug buys coordinated by the Holmes County Sheriff’s office Jan. 3, Jan. 4 and Jan. 18 using a confidential informant. The three sales totaled $70. Wolfe is facing up to 24 months in prison on the charges. Rinfret ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for Wolfe for Aug. 4.
