SUMMARY: Murdered woman not pregnant The death certificate of an Orrville woman found murdered in her home is being corrected after a clerical error resulted in the false statement that she was pregnant. Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Lutz said Friday Sept. 9 that a notation indicating pregnancy on the death certificate of Jamie Hout, 27, McGill Street, occurred after Wayne County Coroner Dr. Amy Jolliff checked the wrong box on a form. “It was a clerical error,” Lutz said. Both Lutz and Orrville Police Chief Dino Carozza said they were unaware that the death certificate stated Hout was pregnant until a Sept. 5 story in the Wayne County Bargain Hunter. After the story ran, several individuals contacted the Bargain Hunter stating Hout was not pregnant. Lutz said the certificate will be corrected. The death certificate was part of an autopsy report in which Jolliff found Hout died from strangulation. Lonnie T. Brown, 48, 7421 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, is charged with aggravated murder in Hout’s death. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge and a Sept. 26 jury trial is scheduled in Wayne County Common Pleas Court.
