Summary: A spring flower sale kicks off the week of March 18-23 with daffodils, tulips and hyacinths available for pick-up or delivery at both the Dover and New Philadelphia Geib Funeral Home locations. The sale benefits the American Cancer Society.
Fundraising for the American Cancer Society is a passion for the Relay for Life team at the Geib Funeral Homes of Dover and New Philadelphia. Team Geib Captain Robin Mackey invites the public to participate in the 7th Annual Spring Flower Sale the week of March 18-23 being held in conjunction with The American Cancer Society's nationwide fundraising campaign Daffodil Days. Flowers will be available for purchase at both Geib Funeral Home locations during regular business hours. Delivery is available.
The annual spring flower sale offers something new this year with the addition of tulips and hyacinths as well as the mini daffodils that have been the mainstay of the event. "I'm ready for spring flowers," said Robin Mackey. "I think this time of year everyone is."
The five inch foil-wrapped pots contain four vibrant bulbs. "They make great gifts and can be displayed at home, in the office, at a nursing home, restaurant or any local business," said Mackey.

A Strongsville area nursery provides the flowers that can be replanted and enjoyed year after year. "The nursery has been wonderful to work with and they provide us with incredible plants," said Mackey. "This really is a team effort from coordinating the event to picking up the plants, it takes a lot of work and we are fortunate to have a dedicated team."
"The American Cancer Society has adopted the daffodil as its official flower because, like the Society, the daffodil represents hope against cancer," said Mackey. "When you plant these flowers you can watch hope bloom year after year."
The American Cancer Society is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by saving lives, diminishing suffering, and preventing cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. Founded in 1913 and with national headquarters in Atlanta, the Society has 13 regional Divisions and local offices in 3,400 communities, involving millions of volunteers across the United States.
Linn Hert Geib Funeral Home and Crematory is located at 116 Second Street NE at New Philadelphia. Geib Funeral Center at Dover is located at 5600 N Wooster Avenue. Call 330-343-5506 and ask for Robin to place an order before the sale.
