The Butterchurn Kitchenware department at Walnut Creek Cheese will host their first event June 8 when they bring nationally renowned pastry chef Lacey Lee Berry into their kitchen. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that Tuesday evening, Berry will demonstrate how to make her famous cupcakes, melt-in-your-mouth fruit pastries, wholesome multi-grain bread, as well as how to use the Bosch mixer and BRK pressure cooker to create meals in minutes. The free event will highlight Berry’s talent, as well as the famous mixer, a favorite among culinary aficionados. Butterchurn manager Miriam Beachy first witnessed Berry at the International Housewares Show in Chicago, Ill. and is excited to bring her to Holmes County. “[Berry] is just full of life and so much fun, as well as full of information,” Beachy said. “This is a wonderful opportunity.” The chef visits Ohio from Utah, where she has a strong fan base for her culinary expertise, teaching techniques, and the ability to improve anybody’s cooking skills. She works closely with Bosch and will show how dinner can be made easy with the help of their state-of-the-art gadgets. The night of the event, Butterchurn will also offer the famous mixer at a discount. Normally sold for $399.99, the Bosch will be available for $339.99, and all accessories will have reduced prices as well. Along with the great deals, several small door prizes, and two large grand prizes will be awarded to event participants. At the end of the night, Butterchurn will give away one free Bosch mixer and one BRK pressure-cooking system to two individual guests. Beachy hopes that by bringing Chef Berry to Walnut Creek Cheese, her team can help create a fun, memorable night for friends and family who can get some good ideas to use in the kitchen as well. Not only is the event free, but all of Chef Berry’s creations will be served to guests as a meal. “I believe that the kitchen is the heart of the home,” Beachy said. “Everybody loves to gather around the table and we want to make that experience memorable. We want to do things in a special way that will truly impact our children and grandchildren.” Walnut Creek Cheese is one of the most successful stores in the area and is famous for their deli products and prices. The Butterchurn Kitchenwares department offers a wide array of kitchen products, including gadgets, dishes, cookware, and home décor. “We are everything you need for the home in a practical sense,” Beachy said. Reservations to attend the event and witness Chef Berry are asked to be made prior to June 1, or when the event is full, by calling Walnut Creek Cheese Butterchurn Kitchenwares at 330-852-2888.
