Summary: Step back in time and help raise money for the American Cancer Society when you attend the 10th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show at Killbuck on May 18. For 10 years the Killbuck Savings Bank Company has participated in fundraising for the American Cancer Society and has great success. Their annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show, one of their premiere fundraising events will be held this year on May 18 at 165 N. Main St. at Killbuck. All proceeds from the car show will be donated to the American Cancer Society at the Relay for Life event in June. Car show registration will take place from 10 a.m. to noon the day of the show. The fee is $10 per car. The first 100 cars registered will receive a dash plaque. “We get people here as early as 7 a.m.,” said Eric Roll, event coordinator. “They want the best spots but registration doesn’t actually begin until 10 a.m.” Judging is from noon to 4 p.m. and winners will receive a trophy. “We have an excellent formula and have not made a lot of changes because the show is always such a big success,” said Roll. “We usually get 150-200 cars and the weather has a lot to do with that. We are hoping for good weather with lots of sun. People travel from all over Ohio to come to this show.” For visitors who are not classic car enthusiasts, a community garage sale will be taking place throughout the village the day of the car show that will feature bargains and collectibles. There will be games and contests for the kids, door prizes as well as a silent auction. Live entertainment will be provided by popular local band Prism. DJ Spike Man will be on hand spinning tunes from the 1950’s and 60’s and plenty of homemade food will be available for purchase. Cruisin’ Times, the Midwest’s largest cruiser publication voted the Cruisin’ for a Cure show at Killbuck one of the top 10 nonprofit car shows in the region. A commemorative 10 Year Anniversary t-shirt will be available. “We have an excellent artist who has worked with us for years,” said Roll. “His designs are fantastic and this year’s shirt should be popular since it is our tenth year.” For more information about the car show call Paula Aurand or Eric Roll at 330-276-4881.
