The Berlin Village Gift Barn and Country Gatherings will be hosting a fairy garden workshop on May 7. There will be two opportunities to attend the workshop, a morning session at 10:30a.m., and an afternoon session at 1:30p.m. Pre-registration is required. The workshop can accommodate 12 guests per session. Walk-ins will only be accepted if space allows.
Fairy gardens are adorable mini gardens complete with live plants, undisturbed natural materials and accessories that create a habitat for hosting fairies whether they be real or imagined. Such gardens are said to attract fairies so one never knows who will be visiting their unique creation.
Janelle Hall, head gardener and buyer for the shops garden section said, We often hold demos on Saturdays for guests but this is our first time trying the fairy garden workshop. The shop features a large selection of items perfect for decorating fairy gardens including fairies, gazebos, furniture, live plants, arbors, topiary picks, structures, containers and various elements to make a fairy garden uniquely your own.
The event was intended for Mothers Day. It is an opportunity for young ones to create a special gift with mom. It would also be perfect for grandparents and grandchildren, aunts and nieces and nephews, sisters or even friends, said Hall. Fairy gardens are enjoyed by young and old and the event will be a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, create new memories and have a unique garden to take home.
Guests will have the opportunity to choose items available in the shop to include in their fairy gardens. Prices will vary depending on the choices selected. During the workshop guests will learn the best plants to choose for their fairy garden, how to plant them and care for them for a garden that will last for years to come.
Guests will be able to choose a small or large container for their fairy garden and decorate it at the workshop. Everything you need to create your fairy garden will be available at the shop, said Hall. If you like, you can bring garden gloves as we will be planting but it isnt necessary.
