Summary: Things are getting stylish at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds as members of the Tuscarawas County 4-H Family and Consumer Science Club hold their first Fashion Runway Fundraiser. Members of the Tuscarawas County 4-H Family and Consumer Science Club have partnered with Rainbow, one of the nation’s fastest growing junior apparel retailers focusing on trendy clothes for young women of all sizes for their first ever fundraiser Fashion Runway. The event will be Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds at the Clover Café. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the style show will begin at 2 p.m. The fundraiser will include junior and junior plus styles worn by live models as well as a selection of handbags, purses, totes, wallets and accessories from Thirty-One Products independent consultant Donna Patterson who also serves as the 4-H club advisor. “The kids have worked so hard this year doing community service projects, helping at local churches, and assisting elderly residents with the clean-up of trees and branches after the storms we had this summer,” said Donna Patterson. “They have gone for the gold.” Brooklyn based Rainbow has more than 1,000 stores nationwide including one in Dover at the Heritage Square Shopping Center. The retailer firmly believes that every woman, regardless of shape or size, should enjoy fun, fashionable, and feminine clothing at an affordable price. “I was amazed at the styles and the prices when I visited Rainbow for the first time,” said Patterson. “I know this is going to be a fun event for the club and everyone who attends the style show.” All proceeds from the event will benefit the 4-H Work Day Project. “The kids are going to put in a permanent rock garden at the fairgrounds near the commercial building,” said Patterson. “The fair board has been seeking a solution to the area that only looks good when flowers are planted and cared for. This rock garden will look nice year round with little to know maintenance required.”
