Summary: For the most memorable, hassle-free and elegant wedding experience, Berlin Hotel and Suites, in the heart of Ohio's Amish country, provides it all. Well, almost. Teaser: Cameron and Krista Miller prayed for snow on their mid-December wedding day. Not a blizzard. Not enough, of course, to keep their 200 or so guests from joining them on their special day. Just a light, romantic dusting. "We really wanted it to snow," said Cameron Miller's mother, Tammy Miller of Berlin, "because that was the theme of their wedding." And while frozen precipitation floating from the sky was something Berlin Hotel and Suites couldn't provide for the young couple, owner Pedro Guzman and special events coordinator Kristina Snyder did everything possible to make it a perfect day the for the Millers. "The Millers wanted to use our Banquet Hall to give a an elegantly simple reception," said Snyder. "They planned to use Christmas decorations, serve buffet-style food, and set up a chocolate fountain. " "Pedro was so accommodating," said Miller. "He allowed me to bring in live Christmas trees the day before the wedding, and even had a person there as our guests arrived to make sure everything went smoothly and that the sound system was set up properly. As a mother, it made me feel good to know someone was there for backup." When the big day came, everything was ready. The decorations were in place and the bride was beautiful. All the Millers needed was the snow. Story: Berlin Hotel and Suites prides itself in providing an all-inclusive wedding location, offering everything from the floor for the first dance to the fork for that last bite of wedding cake, making planning one of life's most important events as simple and uncomplicated as possible. Within the last five years, Berlin Hotel and Suites has completely remodeled every part of the building and grounds, including the 17,000 square foot fitness center and newly renovated indoor pool area. Their 250-person capacity Banquet Hall is tastefully decorated with neutral tones, perfect for supplementing with the couple's choice of wedding decor. "I liked how elegant the hotel banquet room was," shared Tammy Miller. "It didn't require a lot of decorating because it was neutral and up to date. I didn't have to do anything but go in and add my own touch," which, for the Millers, included snowflakes dotting the centerpieces and cake. Because rental for the banquet room includes the use and setup of the tables and chairs, there were no rental companies needed. Couples can then opt to add other special features that the facility offers, like linens, chair covers, china, glassware, and flatware and even a dance floor, which the Millers especially appreciated. Tammy Miller found that Berlin Hotel and Suites was not only competitive with rental companies from community, but they offered what others in the area didn't. "We wanted a room that could facilitate round tables for the reception, and there was no other place we'd found that was able to do that," said Miller. The Millers were also able to take advantage of the multimedia features of the banquet hall, which offers state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment including a ceiling-mounted projector with screen, dvd player and VCR, microphone system, high-speed wireless internet, computer connections, and podium. For the Millers, this not only saved them time and hassle, but money as well. "We didn't even have to hire a DJ," said Tammy Miller. "We just took our laptop, plugged it in, and the music came through their surround-sound system. Guests didn't have to hear the music blaring from one speaker. It played at a nice volume all around them." Owner Pedro Guzman said the hotel also offers everything necessary for guests who are traveling from out of town, offering rooms at several different rates to serve every budget, from economy to presidential. And for the bride and groom, they offer a custom-furnished luxury suite complete with a jacuzzi for two, walk in shower, and 50" plasma television. As part of their stay, the couple can enjoy a continental breakfast in the morning and two 1/2-hour massages. For a more luxurious experience, couples can opt for the hotel's Ring in the Romance Package, adding a half dozen roses in vase, a box of chocolates, and an extended massage. Other options include a cheese and cracker tray, vouchers to local dining and a bottle of sparkling juice. Guzman said couples have appreciated their flexibility, and that's because Berlin Hotel and Suites is willing to work with couples to customize their experience, ensuring that they enjoy their special day to fullest. For Tammy Miller, that goal was clear. Guzman always returned her calls in a timely manner and was very facilitating with their requests. "He was a gentleman throughout the entire experience," said Miller. Berlin Hotel and Suites even took care of the little things, like having spotlessly clean bathrooms and providing adequate space for hanging coats, a must for a December wedding. During the summer months, Guzman said, the gorgeous grounds, with their heart-shaped pond, gentle waterfalls and romantic gazebo, offer a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos. Guests arrived. Candles were lit. Music was playing. And then, to the couple's delight, snowflakes starting drifting from the sky. Miler said that, given the opportunity, she wouldn't hesitate to use Berlin Hotel and Suites again. "For us, it worked perfectly," said Miller. "I would do it again in a heartbeat."
