Keith Castle got into the computer business almost by accident. While was working as a truck driver he became frustrated and impatient while waiting to unload his rig. It was then he knew it was time to do something else. He drove his 18 wheeler to Bryant and Stratton College at Parma in northern Ohio where the large vehicle took up much of the parking lot, walked in and announced he needed a new career.
It wasnt long before Castle had a degree and a part-time teaching job at the college when he decided to start a business of his own that would cater to the needs of residential and commercial computer users. What began in 2000 as a home-based business became KGC Computers, now with two locations in Brunswick and more recently the new Wooster location.
We have survived in this business because weve worn different hats, said Castle. Our ability to serve the various needs of both residential and commercial clients has allowed the business to grow even when the economy hasnt.
For the residential customer KGC Computers offers a variety of computer services that include PC upgrades, computer networking, malware and spyware removal, internet security and firewalls as well as data transfer back-up and recovery. Tablets and smart phones are gaining in popularity but the home PC is going to be around for a while, said Castle. Wooster with its business-friendly climate seemed the perfect place for KGC Computers to open a second location. We had a client in Wooster who encouraged us to come to Wayne County and already we are getting referrals, said Castle. We are in business to succeed and Wooster is a great place for us to be.
