Nationally recognized author to present workshop By Patricia M. Albrecht Christian fiction author and professional copy editor Kaye Dacus from Nashville, Tennessee, will present a workshop for writers on Wednesday, September 8, at the Dover Public Library at 6:30 pm in the community room. Dacus, who has been writing for more than 20 years, has published several novels, worked in the industry as an editor, and has a degree in creative writing, will share the top ten pieces of writing advice that has been helpful in her own writing journey in a workshop entitled “Top Ten Writing Tips”. “It’s a real treat for aspiring writers and avid readers to have Kaye Dacus come to our library for a writing workshop and book signing,” said Dover Public Library’s director Jim Gill. “It is our hope that area writers will be inspired and encouraged.” A Christy Award finalist for her novel Stand-in Groom, Dacus likes to say she writes inspirational romance with a sense of humor. She graduated from Seton Hill University’s Master of Arts in Writing Popular Fiction program. She currently serves as president of Middle Tennessee Christian Writers, which she co-founded in 2003 with 3 other writers. Barbour Publishing, right here in Uhrichsville, and Harvest House Publishing in Oregon, published Dacus’ books, Stand-in Groom, Menu for Romance, A Case for Love, Ransome’s Honor, Ransome’s Crossing, Love Remains, The Art of Romance, and her non-fiction book Little Whispers of Comfort for Busy Women. Refreshments and a book signing will take place following the writing workshop at 7:30. This event is free and open to the public. Call the library at 330-343-6123 to reserve a spot. “We are looking forward,” said Gill, “to a great line-up of author events at the library this fall. Cleveland sports historian and author Jonathan Knight will be here on September 16th to discuss his books on the Cleveland Browns, and baseball historian Dr. Charles Alexander, author of definitive biographies on several baseball greats including Ty Cobb and Rogers Hornsby, will be here on September 30.”
