Deanna McCormick has been named vice president for finance and business at the College of Wooster, effective April 1. McCormick currently is vice president for finance and administration at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, Md., where she provides leadership for the university's accounting, business and investment functions, human resources, physical plant, information technology, and auxiliary operations including the bookstore, food service and conference services. Prior to Notre Dame, McCormick served for six years as vice president for business and finance at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, and for eight years as chief financial officer and treasurer at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind. She has bachelor's degree in management and administration and an master's in finance, both from Indiana University. "Dee emerged as our top choice from a pool of more than 88 outstanding candidates, including many sitting or former CFOs at colleges across the country," said Wooster President Grant Cornwell. "She has extensive experience with strategic and financial planning, budgeting, and administration. She has managed a $350-million endowment and multi-million dollar construction projects, including two science facilities. And at each institution, she has worked diligently with faculty and staff to create an environment of transparency and inclusivity." "I am so excited to be joining the Wooster community," McCormick said. "From the first minute I began exploring this position, I could tell immediately that the campus truly lives the mission. It is all about students and their transformation from the time they arrive at Wooster, until they make their final walk as graduates. I plan to immerse myself in the life of the college, as well as the community and want to make a difference with the depth and breadth of my experience as a business officer in higher education." At Wooster, McCormick will be responsible for oversight of budgeting, the business office, facilities and facilities planning, investments, grounds, purchasing, human resources, the bookstore, and food services.
