For 35 years Quailcrest Farm has been serving Wayne County and visitors from all over the region and beyond. The family-owned farm will re-open for the season on March 27 after a period of rest. Guests will be greeted with herbs, perennials, flowering trees, shrubs, peonies, roses and hostas as spring turns to summer. The 12,000 sq. ft. greenhouse will offer herbs, perennials and unusual plants not found anywhere else. Workshops are held throughout the year to offer gardening tips and to share information. Peruse the Garden Barn, an on-site gift shop with garden equipment and other items for the kitchen, bath and outdoor living spaces. Quailcrest holds several events each year including the Spring Garden Fair June 9-10 and Herb Fair on September 8 with a large juried selection of artists and craftsmen. Look forward to the Christmas Open House and the tradition of holiday soup and herb bread lunches in the farmhouse. New this year is the Soups n Such cookbook, a compilation of holiday soups served in the farmhouse over the past 30 years. Rent the grounds or buildings of this family farm for your next event. Pick up the Quailcrest newsletter, plant lists and a brochure for a self guided walking tour through their many gardens.
