Printing business turns images into works of art by Patricia M. Albrecht After learning about silk screening in high school and realizing how much he loved the art aspect of the craft, Scott Trammell set out to achieve a lifelong goal of owning a print shop. Following 20 years of experience in traditional screen printing and apparel decorating working at his in-laws business, Scott, his wife Leann, and his brother-in-law Terry Wright started Dennison T-Shirt Graphics LTD in the Trammell’s Southside New Philadelphia home in 2007. “I am originally from Dennison,” said Trammell, “and love the history of that area, so that’s where the name came from. Also, Terry owns The Wright Cut in Dennison and customers pick up and drop off orders there as well. Our business took up 1800 square feet of our house, covering the entire basement and garage area. We quickly ran out of room and moved to our present location with 3200 square feet. This enabled us to have a huge display room and work area as well as office space.” Conveniently located right off the freeway on Commercial Avenue in New Philadelphia, Dennison T-Shirt services and products include direct to garment printing, screen printing, plaques, trophies, banners, decals, t-shirts, hoodies, ball caps, personalized gifts, and much more. In September 2009, Dennison T-Shirt acquired a new Brother Garment Printer, making them the first in Tuscarawas County to be able to offer this type of printing. “When we put a down payment on this machine,” said Trammell, “the printer’s weren’t even out yet. It’s been quite an experience owning it, and the manufacturer's continue to ask for feedback. The Brother works from computer to printer. With regular screen printing, you have one size with your image. With this machine, you can shrink an image to fit a toddler shirt or enlarge it to fit an adult’s. We are able to do everything in house, with no sub contracting, enabling us to have a fast turnaround.” Dennison T-Shirt ships coast to coast, has school apparel and group items, and much of their work includes custom orders. “In addition to printing things on material,” said Trammell, “we can put images on clocks, stone coasters, canvas…the possibilities are endless. We are not limited to simply cropping images. We do fadeouts, drop shadowing, and can put several images together.” The business is now on Facebook and their website (www.denntees.com) has over 30 items people can design themselves. Their competitive pricing and quality customer service brings in new customers and repeat business orders. “It’s important to me,” said Trammell, “to treat my customers as I would want to be treated. We put pride in what we do here at Dennison T-Shirt.” In the display room, children often comment about the carousel horse that Leann says is a little bit of New Philadelphia in the room, while Scott shows off the train set that is his little part of Dennison where he grew up.
