Summary: Back for its third year, Taste for Summer is an event that includes something for everyone. With wine and beer tastings, fine arts and crafts, delicious barbecue and a host of other activities that last all day and into the night save the date, May 18 as Coshocton welcomes, at long last, the season of summer. Taste for Summer is the region’s premiere wine-tasting event that includes delicious barbeque as well as craft beers from two Ohio microbreweries. Originally coordinated to demonstrate summer cooking techniques, the annual event has grown into a fundraiser that attracts locals and visitors to Clary Gardens, an emerging botanical garden at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and adjacent to Historic Roscoe Village at Coshocton. Proceeds from Taste for Summer benefit the ever-growing Children’s Garden at Clary Gardens. Now in its third year, Taste of Summer is scheduled May 18, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is bigger and better than ever with fine crafts, live music all day and into the evening and a live auction that includes sports memorabilia, products and services from local merchants as well as a travel-themed wine basket. The auction gets started at 2 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine. “Last year we tripled our attendance,” said event coordinator Chris Wilson. “It is a fun event that involves the entire region and showcases the unique businesses and attractions we have here all while supporting the Children’s Garden at Clary Gardens.” Visitors can get an early start with Nine and Wine at River Greens Golf Course from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Take in nine holes of golf and enjoy tasting nine different Ohio wines. Reservations can be made by calling the golf course at 740-545-7817. The Three Rivers Wine Trail Aerial Tour showcases the region’s farms, wineries and historic landmarks and is available with discounts for couples.
