Business Professionals of America members from Interactive Media and Medical Office Management at the Wayne County Schools Career Center delivered decorated pumpkins to nursing homes, hospitals, the humane society, and senior citizens this week as a community service project after decorating them last week. They learned teamwork and organizational skills while enjoying a traditional fall activity. The pumpkins were on display in the front of the building for a few days before being distributed to the community. The Cheshire cat from “Alice in Wonderland” won first place, decorated by Interactive Media students Dessiree Culbertson of Triway, CJ Krichbaum of Wooster and Jocelyn Kemp of Rittman. Second place went to the orange and white “Finding Nemo” team of Medical Office Management students Trinda Hartzler and Martha Jenkins, both of Norwayne; Mariah Beery of Smithville, and McKenna Johnson of West Holmes. Third-place winners, decorating a blue Papa Smurf, were Interactive Media students Judges were administrative assistants Diana Cooper and Kristi Maximovich, and Career-Tech supervisor Lynette Boggs. BPA advisers are Interactive Media instructor Jennifer Rue and Medical Office Management instructor Anita Hawkins.
