Summary: God wants us to believe what His word says, even if the world is telling us otherwise.
When I first caught hold of the fact that God had great plans for my life (as He does for us all) and wanted me to believe big, my approach to life changed tremendously. I used to limit myself because I looked at my own resources in the natural, instead of what Jesus could do through me in the supernatural. Trying new things intimidated me. I remember being scared to try waitressing as a summer job because I didnt think I would be good enough and people would be critical of me.
Now, I believe for big things. If I start to think, Oh, I cant do that, I remind myself that it is not me doing it alone, and with God working through me all things are possible!
My family recently moved to a house that my husband and I had our eyes on ever since we got married seven years ago. It was totally a work of God. Anyhow, we decided to sell our other house without a realtor because we felt it was the best thing for us. There is NO WAY I would have tried that in years prior. But this time, I decided that with God all things are possible and I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! I wasnt going to limit God by my small thinking like I had in the past.
We listed our house the first week of December, which I think that is probably the worst possible time of the year to sell a house. But I believed despite the circumstances that God was going to help find the right buyer for us and would do so quickly. I needed a scripture to stand on, so I found Psalm 34:10, which says, The young lions lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. I said, Ok God, your Word says that those who seek you shall not lack any good thing. Selling our house is a good thing, so I am going to believe your word that we will not lack this and that we will sell our house. Thank you Lord.
People came against us, saying how bad a time of the year it is to sell and how hard it is to sell a house on your own. I got a letter from a realtor in a town thirty minutes away listing umpteen reasons why you should not sell your house on your own. (How she heard about our house for sale by owner on a little street in Baltic I do not know). After I read that letter I condemned it, saying, Lady, you might be right in the natural but you dont realize that God is working this one out in the supernatural realm.
Isaiah 54:17 tells us that no weapon formed against us shall prosper and every tongue that rises against us in judgment we shall condemn. So I did that. I wasnt going to let what I saw and what people said against us in the natural prevent the supernatural from happening.
It wasnt always easy. Things looked bleak at times. But I just kept going back to the word and what promise I had from it.
On February 10th we closed on the sale of our old house. What a faithful God we serve! His word does not return void. Start believing in that. Hold onto the word no matter what others may say. If the doctor says you have an incurable disease, know that they are just doing their job by what they can see in the natural. The word says that by your stripes we were healed, so believe that Jesus has already provided healing for your body, even if you cant see it. Speak to your mountain (Mark 11:23) about your God, and believe it by faith. Stand firm on what the word says, not what the world says. We walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Believe that God is working behind the scenes in the supernatural realm. If your finances look bleak, know that the word says that My God shall supply all your needs, and hang on that, even when you cant see the manifestation yet. Lets let the word dominate us, and not the world.
People will probably think you are weird. They may call you a fanatic. But the fear of man brings a snare (Proverbs 29:25). Dont let what others think and say about you keep you from living out the victorious life Jesus died to give us all. Believe His Word above anything else, and you will see greater manifestations of power being displayed in your life. Now doesnt that sound exciting? It sure does to me!
