The 12th annual Taste of Tusc event will return to the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas Friday, March 21. This fundraiser, hosted by the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition, invites hundreds of food enthusiasts and community supporters to partake in culinary offerings Tuscarawas County has to offer.

Since its inception in 2010, Taste of Tusc has become a staple in the community, raising over $57,000 to support the development of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and connector trails throughout Summit, Stark and Tuscarawas counties.

The event showcases local agriculture and culinary artistry but also strengthens community bonds. Guests can expect musical performances throughout the evening.

The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. Last year’s event sold out during presale. Consequently, organizers are encouraging guests to secure their tickets early to ensure they won’t miss out on the culinary celebration.

Presale tickets are available for $45 leading up to the event, increasing to $50 at the door. For those seeking an enhanced experience, early access/VIP tickets can be purchased for $55, allowing entry 45 minutes before general admission. VIP ticket holders will receive an extra drink-tasting token — the total will be seven — and two complimentary raffle tickets. All adult tickets include a keepsake tasting glass. Youth tickets for age 6-12 are available for $10, and children age 5 and under attend for free.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.ohioeriecanal.org/taste-of-tusc or by contacting the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition at 330-374-5657.

This year’s event will feature an array of participating vendors, showcasing the culinary diversity of Tuscarawas County. Attendees can anticipate offerings from Baltic Mill Winery, Camp Tuscazoar, Crave NewPhila, Dola Jeans, GailzGoodiez, Gregory James Winery, Hoodletown Brewing Company and others. The full roster of vendors continues to grow, with more participants still being confirmed.

The Taste of Tusc would not be possible without the sponsorship of local organizations. Sponsors for this year’s event include Alfred and Maryann Fearon, Alpha Phi Alpha Homes Inc., Battle Motors, Big Red Printing, Burgess & Niple, Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital, The Commercial and Savings Bank, DoverPhila Credit Union, Environmental Design Group, Gradall, Hammontree & Associates Ltd., Kevin D. Huff DDS LLC, Lauren International, McInturf Realty, ms consultants, Novatny Electric, Pearle Vision of Medina, Rea & Associates, SimonaBoltaron, Skyline Homes, Steve and Becky Mastin, W.E. Quicksall & Associates, and Zimmer Biomet.

For questions or assistance with ticket purchases, call or email event coordinator Lauren Anderson at 330-374-5657 or landerson@ohioeriecanal.org.

Taste of Tusc offers guests local flavors and plays a role in funding the development and maintenance of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and its connector trails. These trails promote outdoor recreation, bolster local economies, and preserve the cultural and historical heritage of the area.
