The Day of Hope Walk is hosted and sponsored by Hope for THIS Step, which is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on suicide and overdose awareness, prevention, and postvention.

                        

The Day of Hope Walk is a family event planned for Saturday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oak Hill Park and pavilion located at 3000 Oak Hill Road in Wooster.

Christopher Milo will be the guest speaker. Milo is an internationally renowned concert pianist, motivational speaker, performer and entrepreneur. He has chosen to use his story and his music to help others. Through his leadership assemblies, conferences, anti-bullying seminars, suicide-solution presentations, private sessions and team building, people are changed.

The Day of Hope Walk has resources available and is a place for those who have lost a loved one to gather with others who understand their pain and experience healing.

Pictures may be submitted for the Remembrance Video or brought on July 21 for display in the Serenity Tent. Pictures need to be submitted by July 7 to be included in the video. Send to info@dayofhopewalk.org or mail to P.O. Box 1442, Wooster, OH 44691.

There will be activities, games, lunch and a Chinese raffle. Tickets are $2 each or $5 for the grand prize tickets. Presale tickets are available by calling 330-231-2558. Tickets also will be on sale at the walk.

Registrations prior to June 30 include a T-shirt. Visit www.dohw18.eventbrite.com to register or donate. Sign up individually or create a team. Registrations and donations also will be accepted on July 21.

Funds from the Day of Hope Walk provide aid to families who have lost someone to suicide or overdose; medication deactivation pouches to help prevent possible overdose and addiction; and books, trainings and speakers for educational classes for communities and survivors of all ages.
