Barbecue at Fundays benefits kids
One of the Dover Exchange Club’s largest fundraisers is coming up Sunday, April 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fundays on the Boulevard in New Philadelphia, and a barbecued chicken dinner will be offered for $15. Those with prepaid tickets should arrive by 2 p.m. to guarantee pickup. Walk-up dinners also will be available.
Money raised at the barbecue will benefit Noah’s Hope Child Advocacy Center, which seeks to prevent child abuse and treat its victims. It is sponsored by Dover Exchange Club Children’s Foundation. Last year the foundation gave $6,500, which brought a five-year total to $43,000 donated to them.
This the 13th annual benefit conducted by the Dover Exchange Club’s Children’s Foundation. This year the foundation board voted to assist Noah’s Hope for the sixth time, as child abuse prevention is one of the National Exchange Club’s major projects and this benefit will assist Noah’s Hope in its approach to providing best practice care for victims of child abuse.
Advance tickets can be purchased from any Exchange Club member, Noah’s Hope board member, A&M Service Center, Dover Public Library, Pro-Print, Shoup’s Cleaning and Baker Florist.
The Children’s Foundation was organized by the Dover Exchange Club in 1994 and is an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Dover Exchange Club was organized in 1959 and has served the local communities for 64 years.
Fundays on the Boulevard is located at 1345 Fourth St. NW in New Philadelphia.
