Corvette club event to benefit CCHO
Cruisin’ for the Kids, a fundraiser held by Mid-Ohio Corvette Club members that raises money for the residents of the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, will be held for the 16th time on Aug. 10. The Buckeye Corvette Club of Canton is assisting the MOCC.
The event will begin at Wooster Nazarene Church, 3100 Oak Hill Road, Wooster, where a continental breakfast is served. Registration at the breakfast location will begin at 9 a.m. Following breakfast, members will depart on a preplanned route through the Wayne County countryside, ending up at the campus of CCHO, 2685 Armstrong Road, just north of Wooster.
MOCC, which began in 2006 and incorporated in 2007, will provide its traditional lunch of Shreve chicken, hot dogs and all the usual accompaniments; basket auction items donated by businesses, community members, the MOCC and associated Corvette clubs; and rides in Corvettes for the children and other activities.
The event continues to provide support to CCHO and all the faith-based services and facilities it provides to the children in need. CCHO’s mission is bringing healing to hurting children and families in Christ’s name. It provides foster care, adoption, a Children’s Residential Center, the New Beginnings Counseling Center, Poplar Ridge Adventures, Poplar Ridge stables, and home- and school-based services.
There is no entry fee, but donations can be made to CCHO. Anyone may send a donation to Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, c/o Mid-Ohio Corvette Club, P.O. Box 551, Wooster, OH 44691. Include Cruisin’ for the Kids in the check memo.
