PAWS ready for summer of fundraising
For dogs at the Wayne County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center, it is a safe place between abandonment and a second chance. Supporting the shelter isn’t just about helping animals. It’s about discovering the joy of adopting a lifelong companion.
Shelters rely heavily on community support through donations, volunteers and adoptions. Without these resources, providing adequate care for canine residents would be challenging. That is where the Promoting Animal Welfare organization comes in.
“Shelter dogs often endure difficult beginnings, but they’re resilient,” PAWS President Brenda Siladi said. “These animals are eager for stability, companionship and affection. PAWS exists to raise funds to provide the resources needed to get each shelter dog the medical care needed and, eventually, find them a loving family.”
According to Siladi, PAWS will kick off a summer of fundraising events to fund a mobile spay, neuter and adoption trailer beginning June 7 at Bent Ladder Cider and Wine, 13550 Mt. Eaton Road N., Doylestown.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and include children’s activities from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the premises at Rittman Orchard. Adult fun will begin at 2 p.m. with purse bingo.
The event also will include disc jockey services by Brian Wolfe, giant Jenga, cornhole, live music, raffles, jewelry vendors, and food and drink vendors.
