United Way’s 10th annual Rock-N-Run adds a 10k
The United Way of Tuscarawas County invites area runners and walkers to participate in its 10th annual Rock-N-Run.
The United Way of Tuscarawas County invites area runners and walkers to participate in its 10th annual Rock-N-Run on Saturday, Sept. 1.
This year to honor the 10th annual race, a 10k has been added. “With adding a 10k, we have moved to a morning race to avoid the evening summer heat,” said Susan Reidenbach, community resources coordinator. “This community event enables us to get the word out about the United Way and our partner agencies while raising funds in a fun and healthy way."
Race day registration for the 5k run/walk and 10k run will start at 7:45 a.m. for those not preregistered. The race will begin and end at the Dover Phila Federal Credit Union, 119 Fillmore Ave., Dover, with a 9 a.m. start time.
The road course is flat and runs along the city streets. Awards for each race will be Second Sole gift certificates to the top-three male and female overall and local gift certificates to the top-three male and female finishers in each age group.
A post race ceremony featuring awards, entertainment and Dough Co. kolaches will follow the race.
