Dr. Tim Stuhlmiller, a Dover orthodontist, is expanding his practice into the Holmes County area. He will assume the duties and patients of Dr. Michael Nippert, who has decided to permanently leave private practice after 15 years to pursue a career as an orthodontist in the U.S. Army. “I have worked with Dr. Nippert over the last few months, becoming familiar with patients and their treatments,” Stuhlmiller shared. “I have been a licensed dentist for more than 10 years and recently completed a specialty program to become an orthodontist in 2008.” Stuhlmiller graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1996, and explained that an orthodontist is technically a dentist who has completed two to three years of additional education and limits their practice to doing braces only. He maintains a practice in downtown Dover, which is open on Tuesdays and Fridays. Stuhlmiller will be available in Millersburg on Mondays and Thursdays and will be located at 1197 Glen Drive, Suite D. He is excited about serving the Millersburg and Holmes County area in general and is looking forward to a long local practice. “With Dr. Nippert’s transition to a career in the military, I am now the only orthodontist in Holmes County,” he said. “I am very excited to be in the area and am looking forward to serving the community by providing excellent orthodontic care.” Stuhlmiller thinks a smile can boost the confidence level and self-esteem of anyone. “A confident, beautiful smile is so important and is often the first thing we notice about others,” he said. “Straight teeth can also help with the maintenance of our teeth by preventing gum disease. Straight teeth are easier to floss and clean, which helps cut down on decay and cavities.” His office works with several insurance companies and also has a variety of payment plans designed to make orthodontic care affordable and convenient. He encourages anyone to call and set up a consultation so a payment plan that will work for them can be created. Although most patients require different treatment plans, the average person will normally wear braces for approximately two years. Stuhlmiller said his practice offers both traditional (metal) and clear braces. “The clear style braces are popular with busy adults who like the idea of straightening their teeth with removable appliances that are virtually unnoticeable,” he said. “Orthodontic care has come a long way and is very accessible and convenient for all ages, kids and adults.” Stuhlmiller said he and all the former patients of Dr. Nippert will miss him and wish him the best in his future endeavors. The entire office staff is excited about serving the local area.
