Dental care for the uninsured of Tuscarawas County remains a huge need. Patients seen at the clinic often have medical complications related to dental care they cannot afford on their own.

                        

The Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured recently received a grant from North Canton Medical Foundation for $7,000 to provide needed dental care for the patients of the clinic.

Dental care for the uninsured of Tuscarawas County remains a huge need. Patients seen at the clinic often have medical complications related to dental care they cannot afford on their own.

The TCWU is actively trying to improve the health and wellness of its patients by providing limited dental care that may be affecting their health.

North Canton Medical Foundation’s mission of “improving the health and wellness of our community through collaborations and financial support” is not only a statement of their mission, but also represents its value and dedication to the community. 

North Canton Medical Foundation awards grants to organizations that focus on programs or services that will have a positive impact on the health and wellness of the community.

TCWU is a nonprofit organization with a mission to improve access to health care for the working uninsured citizens age 18-64 who live in Tuscarawas County and are at or below 199 percent of the federal poverty level.

The clinic is staffed by physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, social workers and others who believe good health can be reached and maintained through the proper balance of exercise, nutrition, medical care and education.

The goal of the clinic is to help patients obtain and maintain good health. In order to achieve this goal, the clinic offers preventative and routine services, diabetic education, hypertension education, nutritional/dietitian services, medication programs, health education classes, some specialty care and dentistry.
