Dunlap Community Hospital limits visitors to protect patients

In an effort to limit patients’ exposure to the influenza virus, Dunlap Community Hospital has implemented restrictions to their visitation policy.
Effective immediately, until further notice, individuals under the age of 18 and anyone displaying respiratory or flu-like symptoms are not permitted to visit.
Dunlap employees have been encouraged to ask people displaying respiratory or flu-like symptoms to wear a surgical mask for their protection and the protection of patients while they are in lobbies or awaiting services. Signage has been posted at all entrances notifying the public of the policy change.
If special circumstances require visitation by a child under the age of 18, those situations will be evaluated by a healthcare worker.
Dunlap has been very proactive in preparing for the onset of the flu season. This visitation restriction is just the next step in making sure that the high quality of patient care is maintained.
