Respiratory therapists receive continuing education at WCH

                        
Wooster Community Hospital (WCH), in cooperation with Phillips Healthcare, sponsored a lecture for respiratory therapists on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Continuing education is required for respiratory therapists to maintain their licensure through the state of Ohio and national credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care. Bonnie Kelly BS, account manager, Philips Healthcare and Gene Fordyce RRT, ventilation specialist, Philips Healthcare were the presenters. The lecture covered aspects of ventilation: interpretation of waveforms and loops, non-invasion positive pressure ventilation, optimizing breath delivery with application of ventilator settings, and achievement of respiratory mechanics through clinical application and correct procedures. The workshop was attended by respiratory therapists from HB Magruder Memorial Hospital, Medina General Hospital, Mercy Hospital Tiffin, Mercy Hospital Willard, Parma Community General Hospital, Specialty Hospital of Lorain, EMH Regional Medical Center, Southwest General Health Center, Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital, and Wooster Community Hospitals. Wooster Community Hospital is committed to providing technologically advanced quality health care to the community as well as supporting the educational efforts of its staff members. Chris Baker RRT, manager of pulmonary/neurology/sleep, Mitzie Stickley RRT, RCP and Tricia Winters RRT, RCP, BBA worked with Kelly to bring this workshop to Wooster Community Hospital.
