Rotary offers Spring Healthcheck in March
The annual Spring Healthcheck will be Saturday, March 15, sponsored by the Rotary Club of New Philadelphia and SpringVale Health Centers. The health check offers a comprehensive blood screening to measure a range of health indicators.
Appointments are available from 6-11 a.m. The event will be held at the SpringVale Health Centers building at 204 S. Bellevue Ave. in Dover.
Elements of the blood profile include a cholesterol lipid panel for HDL, LDL and triglycerides; a comprehensive metabolic panel for kidney and liver function and blood glucose; complete blood count tests for anemia, infection and immunity; and a TSH to measure thyroid function.
The cost of the health check is $55. Testing options include a PSA screen for prostate cancer for men over age 50 and an A1C test to measure long-term management of blood sugar levels. Both of these optional tests are $15 each.
New this year, the health check will offer the ColoFit colon cancer screening take-home kit for an additional $25.
Online appointments can be made at any time by going to the Rotary Club website at www.newphiladelphiarotary.com. Scroll down to the Healthcheck event and click Register. Complete the online registration form by selecting an appointment time and providing the information requested.
Health check appointments also can be made by calling the SpringVale Health Centers at 330-313-2907. Call weekdays during business hours.
A printed lab report will be sent to the home of each health check participant within two weeks of the event.
Proceeds from the health check are used by the New Philadelphia Rotary Club for its many community service activities.
