Wooster Community Hospital has upgraded the X-ray equipment located in the Milltown Professional Building at the corner of Milltown and Friendsville roads. The equipment formerly located in that building has been donated to Central American Medical Outreach, Inc. (CAMO) for use in Honduras. Allen Dicks, senior biomedical technician at Aultman Hospital and involved with CAMO, and Jody Rives, executive director of CAMO, issued the following statement: “Central American Medical Outreach, Inc. (CAMO) wants to thank Wooster Community Hospital for the generous donation of the General Electric X-ray equipment from the Milltown Building. This equipment will be installed in a regional hospital in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras. The hospital currently has only one table X-ray system. When this unit is broken the patients are referred to a clinic one mile away and then the patients return to the hospital with their X-rays in hand. Imagine traveling on cobblestone roads with a broken bone. The Wooster community has always been generous to CAMO, donating monies, equipment and supplies, and volunteering in our Orrville warehouse and in medical teams to Honduras. For further information on CAMO, see our website at http://www.camo.org or call our office at 330-683-5956.” For further information on Imaging Services at Wooster Community Hospital, call the hospital at 330-263-8100 or visit the website at http://www.woosterhospital.org.
