The Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured at Dover received a $10,000 grant for salary support for three staff members.

                        

The trustees of the Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation have approved grants totaling $128,955 to twelve non-profit organizations. The foundation supports programs that promote the physical and mental well-being of the people residing in Holmes, Stark, Tuscarawas, and Wayne counties in Ohio.

Those receiving grants include:

-American Red Cross – Canton - $8,315

Purchase 10 blood scales.

-Aultman Massillon Emergency Department – Massillon - $27,000

Purchase a Telestroke unit to remotely facilitate stroke specialty services to deliver critical health feedback quickly.

-CommQuest Services – Massillon - $11,000

New flooring for eleven rooms at their Massillon homeless shelter.

-EN-RICH-MENT – Canton - $2,740

Healthy cooking and eating.

-Hope United – Uniontown – $1,000

Transportation support.

-Lake Township FISH – Hartville - $11,000

Air-conditioning for their new facility.

-Meals on Wheels – Massillon - $25,000

Walk-in freezer.

-Minerva United Methodist Church – Minerva - $4,000

Trailer purchase for food transport.

-NAMI Wayne & Holmes – Wooster - $3,900

Art therapy program.

-The Salvation Army – Massillon - $5,000

Community meal and food pantry.

-Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured – Dover - $10,000

Salary support for three staff.

-Viola Startzman Clinic – Wooster - $20,000

Dental expansion program.

In addition to the above grants, Austin-Bailey provides $4,000 scholarships to students at Aultman College, Kent State University Stark, Kent State University at Tuscarawas, Malone University, Stark State College, University of Mount Union, Walsh University and Wayne College. Recipients of those scholarships are all engaged in health related studies. Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine also receives $11,000 for two scholarships.

The foundation has two grant cycles each year, and welcomes grant requests that are health and wellness related. Nonprofit organizations are encouraged to call the foundation office first to discuss their project or program at 330-580-2380.

The deadline for submitting requests for the next grant cycle is June 2.
