Landoll’s Mohican Castle to offer autumn haunted hours
Local ghost hunters have a prime opportunity to bust out their 1980s PKE Meter from the movie “Ghostbusters” and truly see if they “ain’t afraid of no ghosts.”
Every night in September and October, Landoll’s Mohican Castle will take guests on a trip back to the 1830s to embark on a one-hour guided haunted tour.
The Ghost Walk & Haunted History Tour includes a tour of Heyd Cemetery and a stop at the replica of the old log cabin nearby.
“Tours are at 8 p.m. in September and October,” said Jimmy Landoll, CEO of Landoll’s Mohican Castle. “9:30 tours are added on Friday and Saturday nights starting Oct. 13.”
This is Landoll’s ninth season of offering haunted history tours.
“Guests will hear chilling stories and legends and perhaps even encounter paranormal activity,” Landoll said. “Guests will learn about ghosts and supernatural occurrences associated with the castle property.”
He said they had a few hundred attend the summer Saturday tours, and he expects over 1,000 to attend during the fall nightly tours.
During the last 15 minutes of the tour, guests will attempt to communicate with spirits at Landoll’s Mohican Castle. The tour also includes information about the early pioneers of the castle property and the mischievous things they do to the current visitors.
“We also offer private paranormal investigations,” Landoll said. “We were featured on an episode of ‘Ghost Hunters’ on A&E. New for this year, we have rebuilt the original log cabin that sat adjacent to the cemetery that was originally a church. This will also be included on the tours starting in September.”
If the event gets canceled due to weather, those affected will be given a rain check to attend another ghost walk.
“You can visit our website at www.landollsmohicancastle.com/events to purchase tickets,” Landoll said. “You can also call 419-994-3427.”
