The event is a unique nine-hole golf scramble played in the dark. The course will be laid out with luminaries, glow-in-the-dark golf balls and lighted flag pins.

                        

Pomerene Hospital is planning its 18 annual Starlight Golf Scramble, which will take place at Fire Ridge Golf Course on Friday, June 1.

The Starlight Golf Scramble is hosted by the Pomerene Health Foundation. The event is a unique nine-hole golf scramble played in the dark. The course will be laid out with luminaries, glow-in-the-dark golf balls and lighted flag pins.

Due to increasing interest of teams, preregistration and payment is required to guarantee a spot for this event. The first 15 teams paid in advance will be guaranteed a starting time.

Following the event, a box dinner will be served, the Traveling Trophy will be awarded to the first-place team, and there will be a skins game and raffle prize.

Support of the Pomerene Health Foundation’s 18th annual Starlight Scramble will give back to the hospital and community through health-care scholarships, nursing scholarships, education and training programs, medication funds, and purchase of equipment.

The cost of a four-man team is $140. Sponsorship opportunities also are available. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, May 25. The sponsorship deadline is May 20.

The event will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 1. Registration that night will begin at 7:45 p.m., and instructions will be given out at 8:45 p.m.
