Smithville will host its annual antique market on Saturday, Aug. 18 on the grounds at the Mishler Weaving Mill, 381 E. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Norma Trotter, Barb Mast and friends will be heard playing their dulcimers. There will be a food wagon on hand for a noon meal.

Nearly 20 antique dealers will be on hand selling vintage and antique items. The Mishler Weaving Mill will be in operation.

Pioneer Village at 180 E. Main St. will open at 1:30 p.m., and guests will be able to visit with craftsmen.

Three homes from 1830, the mid-1830s and 1850 with each showing the lifestyle of each period and changing exhibits in the Downey Pioneer Visitors Center will be open for tours.

Guests can view a German outdoor bake as well as take time to explore the Lydo Barn with its many farm-related items including a Cedric tractor from the 1930s, an early Fordson tractor, many early pioneer pieces, ice-cutting equipment and items from one of the last family-operated legal distilleries.

Travel to Eberly Street and turn onto Milton Street to visit the Church of God that was built in 1867.

Toward the end of the tour is the Caboose/Children's Museum. Last is the depot, which houses local railroading memorabilia equipment used in the early woodworking that was part of the village businesses in the 1800s.
