Antiques in the Alley is back for the ninth year in a row and is sure to be better than ever. Located in downtown Millersburg, visitors can shop the streets, back doorways and alleys of historic Millersburg for antiques. This is a great chance to see what all seven antique and accent shops have to offer and have a chance to enjoy the nice spring weather.

Phil Starr, owner of Starlight Antiques, said, "The event is more to promote antiques in the area. They have kind of expanded it but we try to keep it more to antiques."

The event is held twice a year, in May and August. There will be a number of different vendors set up on the sidewalks, alleys and on the courthouse lawn. The vendors will be selling furniture, garden accents, salvage items, primitives, folk art, art décor and many things in between. There is something for everyone who walks down the streets of Millersburg.

This event is not just limited to the antique vendors but to the other downtown businesses as well. They will participate by putting items out and having their own sidewalk sales. Local nonprofits like the Humane Society, Senior Center and Lionesses will also have items for sale. The event has been expanded to include some craft vendors. There will be variety of things to take a look at throughout the day.

"It is a good day for our antique shops but it is great for other businesses. It is a great day for people to come into downtown Millersburg," said Starr.

People come from all over to see what Antiques in the Alley has to offer. "We anticipate having a lot of traffic that day," said Starr. "We usually get people in from the larger cities."

This antique show is more laid back than what most think. It starts slow and moves at a slower pace throughout the day so people can enjoy all that Millersburg has to offer. Starr hopes that people will come out to this event to show support for the antique vendor. "Well, it will hopefully be a nice spring day and people can get out and about. Millersburg is a nice little village to do business in and it is a good event," said Starr.

Antiques in the Alley will be held Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Historic Downtown Millersburg. Come out and enjoy a nice spring day with a chance to find an antique just right for your home. Do not miss out on this chance to see what Millersburg has to offer and show your support for the antique shops in town.
