Jackie McKee, Holmes County auditor, said property owners can visit the website at www.holmescountyauditor.org and search for their property by name, address or parcel number.

Once the parcel is up, click on the tax tab, then click on the View Upcoming Levies tab. Levy information for the parcel will appear. This feature will allow voters to be informed prior to going to the polls on what the proposed issues mean to their wallets.

It also will assist taxpayers in knowing what the estimated increases will be to their upcoming tax bill due to the passage of the levies by majority of the voters.

The Nov. 5 ballot will include the following proposed or renewing property-tax levies:

—Clark Township Fire District, replacement levy, 2 mills, for fire and EMS.

—Paint Township, replacement, 2 mills, for fire and EMS.

—Prairie Township, additional, 3.75 mills, for road.

—Richland Township, renewal, 1 mill, for fire and EMS.

—Ripley Township, renewal, 2.5 mills, for road.

—Washington Township, replacement, 2 mills, for road.

—Southeast Local School District, renewal, 2.75 mills, emergency.

—West Holmes Local School District, renewal, 1.84 mills, emergency.

—Holmes County Home, renewal, 1.5 mills, for operation and repairs.

—Village of Killbuck, renewal, 5 mills, for current expenses.

“Since 2008 we have posted this specific information for every levy-affected property on our website,” McKee said. “It is important to me to have this information available to taxpayers so they can be informed on proposed and future increases to their tax bill.”
