Author Carolyn Savage will be visiting the New Philadelphia location of the Tuscarawas County Public Library System Saturday, April 20 at 2 p.m. Her visit marks the first installment in the librarys 2013 Visiting Author Series.
When Carolyn and Sean Savage underwent an in-vitro fertilization transfer in February 2009, they knew it would be their last chance. If they became pregnant, they would celebrate the baby as an answer to their prayers. If not, they would be grateful for the family they had and leave their fertility struggles behind.
They never imagined a third option: Carolyn was pregnant, but the clinic had transferred the wrong embryos. She was carrying someone elses baby.
The couple chronicled their experience in the book Inconceivable: A Medical Mistake, the Baby We Couldnt Keep, and Our Choice to Deliver the Ultimate Gift. Booklist hails Inconceivable as compelling and well told. The Savages story has been recently featured on news outlets such as Dateline, the TODAY Show and Katie Couric.

With National Infertility Awareness Week occurring April 21 through April 27 this year, we hope that her visit will bring well-timed awareness to the struggles and difficulties faced by many couples throughout the United States.
