BBB warns: Bing Bong Tec falls short of promises to pay cash to consumers
BBB is alerting consumers nationwide about an influx of complaints received about the company, Bing Bong Tec. This company also does business under the name Nbdeals LLC, a seller on Amazon.
From July 2019 to September 2019, BBB Canton received seven complaints, four one-star reviews, three Scam Tracker reports and two AdTruth submissions about Bing Bong Tec, a company that buys used or broken cell phones or ipads for cash.
According to BBB complainants, the company quotes a price for their item, but once received the company typically finds issues with the device and lowers the original quote. Consumers state they never received payment for their shipped item, nor is the item returned to them.
One consumer reported receiving payment via an electronic check; however, it was returned by his bank for nonsufficient funds.
“I wanted to sell my old iPhone. I searched various offers, and Bing Bong had the highest offer for my phone,” Mr. Rogers reported to Scam Tracker.
After not receiving payment for several weeks, Rogers called the company and was sent a “new” electronic check. “I cashed that check, and the bank returned it with a note stamped on it, 'NSF - Not Sufficient Funds.' Additionally the bank charges a fee when a check bounces like this one, so I am now out the iPhone and out the NSF fee. I tried calling Bing Bong Tec and got a message that a voicemail could not be left because v-mail has not been set up for that number,” he said.
Through BBB investigation it has been confirmed the company is no longer located at the 1250 Bedford Ave. SW location in Canton. It also was learned that Bing Bong Tec is not associated with LT Associates Inc., also located at this address. The company had rented space from LT Associates Inc. but moved out last month. Bing Bong Tec’s current location is not known at this time.
The company website at www.bingbongtec.com has the BBB Accredited Business logo on it while the company is not associated with the Better Business Bureau. This constitutes trademark infringement and is currently being pursuing by the BBB of Canton.
The BBB of Canton displays an “F” rating for Bing Bong Tec.
