Boerger to speak at TCPL

                        
On Wednesday, August 3, the Tuscarawas County Public Library in New Philadelphia will welcome Dean Boerger, a licensed private investigator. Boerger will present two programs; he will talk to teens at 3 p.m. and will present to adults at 6:30 p.m. Boerger will discuss what it takes to investigate real-world issues, including complex criminal and civil matters. He will demonstrate and display some “tools of the trade” such as spy cameras, latent fingerprint dusting, evidence collection techniques and much more. A licensed private investigator with more than 20 years of experience, Boerger is the owner of Boerger Investigative Services, LLC “BIS” and is licensed in Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. Boerger Investigative Services specializes in fraud investigations and covert surveillance operations. He has also worked court appointed criminal cases involving rape, murder, arson and burglary. He was retained as an investigation expert on the hit A&E television series Paranormal State for an episode called The Fire. The episode examined the circumstances surrounding the murder of a couple and subsequent arson in Perry County. He started Boerger Investigative Services in 1998 and has had numerous investigative articles published, appeared on national and local television and is a frequent speaker on investigative topics and trends. Boerger spent 12 years in the U.S. Army before working for a national security company conducting labor and employment law investigations for 10 years. Boerger is past president of the Indiana Association of Professional Investigators and current vice president of education for the Private Investigator and Security Professionals of West Virginia. He is an active member of the Ohio Investigators Association; Ohio Auto Theft Investigators Association; National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators; National Association of Legal Investigators; Ohio Arson & Fire Investigators Association; and a is legislative lobbyist with the National Council of Investigation and Security Services to name a few. He has sponsored an internship program through The Ohio State University for the past eight years and mentors students interested in an investigation career path. Boerger recently formed a training division of BIS [Strategic Training Group, LLC “STG”] to meet the demand for quality career focused training for those interested in entering the field of private investigation.
