The Tuscarawas County YMCA announced the appointment of Jeff Bray as the new youth and family director. Bray brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to serving youth and families in the community.

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Bray graduated from The Ohio State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Criminology, along with a minor in Sociology. Immediately following graduation, he embarked on a year-long journey around the globe. This experience broadened his horizons and deepened his understanding of diverse cultures.

Bray began his career at New Philadelphia City Schools as an english language learner tutor, where he quickly became the ELL family liaison. In this role, he worked closely with Latino students and their families, effectively connecting with the community through his ability to speak Spanish. His dedication to supporting the Latino community continued as he took on the role of full-time Latino youth advocate with Latino Cultural Connections before holding positions at the Tuscarawas County Public Library and ProVia.

With a passion for travel, Bray has visited Guatemala six times and explored 40 countries across five continents. He believes these experiences enrich his perspective and enable him to serve the community better.

“I am excited to be part of the YMCA team and look forward to building meaningful connections as we work together to serve our community,” Bray said.
