Camp Tuscazoar will host the second annual Mutty Paws Dog Hike on Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. onsite at 6066 Boy Scout Road in Dover.

This hike will offer an opportunity for registrants to hike on several pet-friendly trails with their dogs.

Vendors will include pet rescues and pet- and hiking-related businesses including two national businesses, Duluth Trading Company and Nulo Petfood.

There also will be food-truck vendors available with various food choices.

Two demonstrations will be offered this year from Carrie’s Canines Training and Activity Center at 1:30 p.m., followed by a demonstration by the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Canine Unit at 2 p.m.

A feature this year for registered hikers who complete some of the longer hikes will be a choice of gifts from the gift treasure chest.

There also will be a guided hike with a local hiking group between 5 and 10 miles.

The cost is $20. The first 100 registrants will receive a backpack filled with human and canine goodies.

Several baskets for both humans and four-legged animals will be raffled off to attendees.

Registration forms can be downloaded at www.tuscazoar.org/Events, or there is online registration on Facebook at the 2nd Annual Mutty Paws Dog Hike.

Proceeds from the dog hike will be used to build trail bridges and maintain hiking trails.

Volunteers are needed to work at the event. Those willing to assist should email Valerie Stroh-Kline at saleo7482@gmail.com or Sue Hardesty-Ritenour at sjhardesty@sbcglobal.net.

Camp Tuscazoar Foundation Inc. is an Ohio nonprofit corporation.
