CenturyLink Orrville Rib and Music Fest set to rock downtown
Main Street Orrville and the Orrville Lions Club will present the 2012 CenturyLink Orrville Rib and Music Fest in downtown Orrville on Friday and Saturday, August 10 and 11. The festival, sponsored by CenturyLink, First National Bank, and Serpentini Chevrolet Buick, will be filled with food, music, and fun for everyone.
Friday night starts with the Motorin on Market Cruise-in at 5 p.m. Participants should enter W. Market Street from Main Street and follow the directions of the event staff. The first 100 participants receive a commemorative dash plaque. Returning for 2012 are the Peoples Choice and Peer Choice trophies.
Phil-n-The Blanks kicks things off with the sounds of the 50s and 60s when they take the stage at Cornerstone Park, N. Vine at W. Market Street, at 5 p.m. Friday. The eight-piece Chris Conway and the Ultimate Funk Machine fills the air beginning at 9 p.m.
Saturday begins at 11 a.m. with the Orrville Railroad Heritage Societys Railroad Days on McGill Street siding. Theyll offer games, train rides, and more.
The fun starts popping up on W. Market Street from Main Street to Vine Street at noon with an assortment of inflatable activities for the kids.
Music at Cornerstone Park on Saturday includes Rogues Hollow Blues Band, Karri Fedor & Kerosene, The Josh Snyder Band, and Liquid Sky. A complete schedule can be found at www.OrrvilleRibAndMusic.com
Of course, what would a rib and music fest be without ribs? And this year Orrville Lions have arranged for a selection of rib artists, along with a complement of other food vendors, to delight your palate.
