East Union Bulk Foods celebrates 33 years
Today, the Schlabach family continues the tradition of offering the highest quality foods while paying special attention to the particular needs of customers.
“This is where the locals come to shop,” said Jake Schlabach, a third-generation family employee. “I’ve worked here since I was 14. Although a lot has changed, we still know our customers, and it’s most important to us to continue to fulfill their specific needs.”
Celebrating 33 years of business, the Schlabach family is holding an anniversary sale at East Union Bulk Foods Monday through Saturday, March 14-19. During the weeklong celebration, East Union invites customers to take advantage of special deals on a variety of food and grocery items.
“Look for our ad on this paper next week for specifics on the sale items,” Schlabach said. “We will be having extra specials and free coffee all week.”
East Union customers are so loyal, he said, because of the fresh-cut meats and cheeses available in the deli. Everything is cut to order; there are no precut deli items here.
“We also provide many specialty items you won’t find at the larger chain grocery stores,” Schlabach said.
“We have a large selection of bulk items including spices, nuts, pastas, dried beans and dried fruits. We offer many gluten-free products, along with many over-the-counter vitamins and other health products. We anticipate what our customers want and make it a one-stop shopping experience.”
With their customers’ busy lives in mind, the East Union team now offers take ‘n’ bake pizzas.
“The pizzas are prepared and ready to be baked at home for a quick dinner,” Schlabach said. “They have quickly become a favorite.”
Schlabach knows people have many options when it comes to buying food and other essentials for their families. East Union Bulk Foods satisfies with its fresh, high-quality foods and wide array of bulk food items.
“My grandfather taught us the importance of honesty, a good work ethic and excellent customer service,” Schlabach said. “We do our best to carry on that tradition each and every day.”
